“Get On Board with Trains and Things”
PWN Member Carolynn Orr
Carolyn will share the ins and outs of setting up a themed clothing and giftware internet shop within a larger online marketplace and some of the advantages and disadvantages of doing business in this manner.
Background: Carolyn Orr, Trains and Things
Carolyn is a retired librarian who has worked in libraries in North Carolina, Virginia, and Germany. Her experience includes working in elementary school, junior high school, business college, and community college libraries. She also worked with the military at two different US Army posts in Germany, in a technical library in a naval shipyard, and ended her career as Chief of Reader Services at the Joint Forces Staff College Library in Norfolk, VA. She now volunteers with the Greensboro Chapter of the American Red Cross, serving on the Volunteer Resources Committee and by working in the Blood Center.
Traveling has always been one of Carolyn’s favorite things to do, especially when that travel includes a train ride or a visit to an amusement park with several roller coasters, the other kind of rails she likes to ride! After seeing how much both children and adults love trains and train rides, she decided to design clothing and giftware for train lovers of all ages. Carolyn’s “Trains and Things” internet shop is the fulfillment of her ideas for designing items with slogans that show a love for riding trains and she hopes that people will enjoy the train designs and slogans that show a sense of humor.
Her designs can be found at http://www.cafepress.com/trainsandthings.
